Pit Bulls at Work

Pit bulls, due to their nature, are successful:

  • Therapy dogs (if you couldn’t guess)
  • Search & Rescue dogs
  • Service dogs
  • Police dogs (narcotics or bomb detection, specifically)
  • Agility & dog sports athletes

Pit bull-type breeds continue to achieve excellent temperament scores - scoring in the top 21% of all breeds*


Pit bulls were used in advertising as “America’s Dog” for the first part of the 20th Century
